Rani Mukerji‘s, who made a comeback to acting after a gap of 4 long years, film Hichki released on March 23, 2018 and opened to a positive response from all ends, although the opening day box office collection of the movie remained quite average. Marriage and motherhood took priority for her during those years and it took a beautiful, heart-touching story from director Siddharth P Malhotra for Rani to return to her first love – acting. Helmed by Siddharth P Malhotra, Hichki stars Rani as an inspiring and self-motivated school teacher named Naina Mathur, who suffers from Tourrete syndrome, got a thumbs up from critics and audiences and has earned Rs 34.50 crore in 10 days.

Rani Mukerji’s Hichki managed to perform phenomenally well in its second weekend at the box office. According to Film Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh, Rani Mukerji’s film earned Rs 3.40 crore on Sunday, thus, taking its total collection to Rs 34.50 crore in just ten days. Earlier today, Taran Adarsh took to his micro-blogging site to share the official collection of the film. He wrote, “#Hichki braves the #Baaghi2 juggernaut… Puts up IMPRESSIVE numbers in Weekend 2… Emerges a HIT… [Week 2] Fri 2.40 cr, Sat 2.60 cr, Sun 3.40 cr. Total: ₹ 34.50 cr. Speaking of Hichki being the most special film of her career, an overwhelmed Rani said in a statement, “With the incredible love that audiences have showered on Hichki and on me, they have proven that for them good cinema and good performance is the only thing that matters – not marital status, not parenthood. They have made me incredibly emotional. Audiences have celebrated working mothers today and I will be forever thankful to them. I’m grateful to my director Siddharth P. Malhotra and my producer Maneesh Sharma for giving me a project that will forever be the most special film of my career.”
