Karan Johar and Saif Ali Khan have set the mood right for the evening with all their funny antics and banter. Alia Bhatt opened the show with her performance. She set the fire ablaze with her energetic performance, and social media went absolutely gaga on her power packed performance. Among the winners tonight, Team Ae Dil Hai Mushkil won big in the first set of awards—winning in the best Music Director, Singer (Male) and Lyricist categories. Varun Dhawan won his first ever IIFA award as the best comedian  of the year for his role in Dishoom. Jim Sarbh won the best actor in a Negative Role. Needless to say, Alia Bhatt who has been making quite an impressionable fashion statement with each of her ensembles on the Green Carpet, won the best Style Icon of the year, while Taapsee Pannu won the Woman Of The Year award for her role in Shoojit Sarkar’s PINK.
