It was heartbreaking for all cricket and cine fans when they heard that Ranveer Singh won’t be able to perform at the Indian Premiere League 2018 opening ceremony. The Padmaavat and Gully Boy star had to opt out of the line-up due to an injury while playing a football match. He is nursing his shoulder right now. And we have just learnt that Parineeti Chopra, who was also slated to perform at this year’s IPL opening ceremony, will not be able to regale fans with her power packed, entertaining performance.
A statement from the actress’ spokesperson has just reached us and according to it, Parineeti’s grueling shoot schedule for her film didn;t give her enough time to prepare for the IPL opening night. “She was shooting non-stop for Namaste England in Patiala and had back-to-back, pre-committed endorsement commitments. So, unfortunately, she did not have enough time to rehearse in spite of her best efforts,” said the statement further revealing that she has already spoken to the event organisers about the same.
“Being a thorough professional, Parineeti spoke to Wizcraft and explained to them that she was not ok putting up a compromised performance. Wizcraft has been gracious enough to understand this and agrees with Parineeti. She would not be performing at the gala opening,” said her spokesperson.
Now, with Ranveer and Parineeti – two power-packed performers out of the much awaited gig, all eyes are going to be on Hrithik Roshan. Knowing what a smooth stepper that he is, we can expect a treat when the curtain raises over this season’s Indian Premiere League on April 7.
