Previously, Rajinikanth‘s Kaala Karikaalan was to hit screens on April 27 but a few days ago it was reported that due to the ongoing ban by Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TPFC), the film will be pushed to a later date for release. Now, as per reports doing the rounds, Thalaiva’s Kaala Karikaalan will be clashing with Salman Khan‘s Race 3 this Eid. Looks like things are going to get very interesting this Eid as two of the biggest stars—South superstar Rajinikanth and Bollywood’s very own Salman Bhai are going to battle it out at the Box Office this Eid.
Rajinikanth’s most anticipated film, Kaala Karikaalan, which was slated for an April 27 release (that’s celebrated as Tamil New Year in the country) has now been postponed owing to the Tamil film industry strike. For the uninitiated, the TPFC ban is because of the high rates being levied by the digital distribution companies, which means that there won’t be any big-ticket films to milk on such big holidays. Baahubali 2 : The Conclusion had reportedly been released around the same time last year. And now we hear that two of the biggest stars and two of the most anticipated films of the years will be clashing at the BO. Excited much?
Kaala Karikalan will now hit screens on June 15. The fans are in for a serious treat this Eid as they will now get the opportunity to witness two blockbusters this festive season. However looks like Rajinikanth has a lot of waiting to do. It’s not just Kaala that has been postponed, his 2.0 too has been delayed for over a ear now. In Kaala, apart from Rajinikanth, one will also get to see Nana Patekar, Pankaj Tripathi and Huma Qureshi. On the other hand, Race 3, also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Saqib Saleem, Freddy Daruwala, Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles. While Kaala is being helmed by Pa Ranjith, who also directed Rajinikanth-Radhika Apte starrer Kabali, Race 3 is being helmed by Remo D’Souza who has made the ABCD franchise films in the past.
