Kangana Ranaut – Two things come to your mind when you read this name. One, a brilliant actress and two, a fierce and fearless person who doesn’t sugar coat her words and says it like it is supposed to be said. The actress will be next seen in Manikarnika, a period film, with a mega budget, with a female lead as the only lead. “I am doing one of the biggest epics of 2018. No other film with a female lead has been made with a higher budget,” declares the actress, who is proud of where she has reached and prouder of how she got there.

“I had to fight for my career and the money that I get paid. I have my houses and properties because I fought for them; not because of others. Big production houses exploit actresses; they don’t get the kind of money you think they do,” says the actress while opening up in an interview with a leading daily. However, the perceptions about her are still divided. While some see her as a hero, some feel she has been digging her own grave, fighting a new battle every day. “People think that I am fighting a battle every day. My life must be miserable. I must be having no future because I’m not friends with the Johars or the Roshans. It’s far from that.” ALSO READ: Kangana Ranaut’s Unseen Pic From Sets Of Manikarnika Is The Perfect Treat For Fans

Nothing and no one can stop Kangana from impressing her audience who walk into the theatres to see her perform. Even in Simran (2017), which didn’t really shatter any box office records, cine buffs came out wowed by Kangana’s earnest performance. She makes sure that watching her on the big screen in a ‘paisa-wasool’ experience. That love from her loyal fan following acts as the wind beneath her wings each time she chooses to call out all that is wrong in the industry. And she is sure to continue doing so. “To be honest, I do not go out thinking that I have to change society or make it douchebag-free. I am a good person, but not a great one. I am fighting for my rights.”

Manikarni, where Kangana plays the warrior queen, Rani of Jhansi, has no official release date as yet but speculations are that it will hit screens in August this year. We cannot wait to see what the actress has in store for us this time. Can you?
