Kapil Sharma’s fans were ecstatic ever since news broke that the comedy star will be making a TV comeback. As promised, Kapil was back on the small screen with Family Time With Kapil Sharma, once again promising to regale audience. But the show lacked the punch and the guffaws inducing one-liners that fans were used to seeing on Kapil’s previous shows. Something was definitely a miss. Two episodes down, we heard rumours that the show might be taken off air since it is not performing well and now, we have another update that will break fans’ hearts.

Buzz is that since the actor-comedian has been cancelling shoots at the last minute, leaving the channel in an awkward position when it comes to celebrity guests, it is now decided to take steps to solve this problem once and for all. According to a report on Indian Express, a source has informed that the first episode got a high TRP since Kapil was making a comeback and his ardent fans had been waiting to watch what he has in store for them. However, they weren’t impressed with the content, which had too many elements “put in together for this 90s style game show. But it lacked the punch that they expected. However, owing too few personal issues, he had to cancel Rani Mukerji’s shoot and this left us in a lurch,” said the source.

The source also revealed that they hadn’t shot a bank of episodes and since Kapil’s health and personal issues have been making it difficult for him to focus on work, the channel has decided to put Family Time With Kapil Sharma on hold. “At least the whole of April, we aren’t shooting. We will figure out the rest once he feels better,” said the source adding that they want Kapil to get better and be back so that then he can devote all his time and energies on his work.

It can be recalled that the comedy star got into a Twitter fight with his ex-colleague Sunil Grover before the show went in air and just recently, went on a social media rant, against a journalist. The recorded call conversation, where the comedian abused the said journalist and alleged that, “your daughter wants to sleep with me,” also went viral, and the comedy actor’s image certainly received a major blow. Is the channel’s decision to put the show on hold influenced by all these embarrassing incidents? Our guess is as good as yours.
