After Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma and Tamannaah Bhatia, filmmaker-producer, Karan Johar, will bag the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award on April 21 in the category of the Best TV Host. Karan has been associated with the Indian television for the longest time and is perhaps one of the only filmmakers who is so active on the TV scene. His talk show, Koffee With Karan is a huge hit and movie buffs wait for it with bated breath every year. Well, all we can say is Congratulations, Karan!

Meanwhile, Karan is busy kickstarting the shoot of his upcoming production, Student of the Year 2, starring Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, and Tara Sutaria. He got emotional lately as he kickstarted shooting for the second installment of the franchise in Dehradun. He shared a pic in which a wall is filled with posters of the three actors, his proteges–Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, each of who made their debut with Student of the Year in 2012. The film is being helmed by Punit Malhotra.
