Kick box office report: Salman Khan's film struggles at Rs 223.94 crore collections at India BO

Salman Khan’s blockbuster film Kick crossed Rs 300 crore worldwide, but at the Indian box office, the movie is struggling at Rs 223.94 crore. The latest box office collections of Kick as tweeted by trade analyst Taran Adarsh show Kick‘s collections nowhere near even Rs 250 crore in India. Adarsh tweeted on August 11, saying, “#Kick [Week 3] Fri 1.97 cr, Sat 2.94 cr, Sun 3.92 cr. Grand total: ₹ 223.94 cr nett. India biz.”

Kick beat the record of Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots only at the domestic box office. It is yet to break the 3 Idiots worldwide BO which is close to Rs 400 crore, as also Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express that has similar figures in overseas collections.

Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3, released in December 2013, is by far the all-time top Bollywood grosser overseas with box office collections of Rs 500 crore – including the trade figures of Dhoom 3‘s Hindi, South Indian and English versions.

As for Kick, its India box office collections dropped due to the positive response to Akshay Kumar’s film Entertainment. It remains to be seen whether Kick is able to withstand the pressure of new releases in the coming weeks.
