Sonam Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Siddharth, cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle and fashion photographer Atul Kasbekar among others have come out in support of Masaba Mantena, who was trolled on Wednesday for expressing her contentment on Supreme Court’s decision to ban firecrackers. Upon doing so, she was subjected to cyber bullying and called, “B@#%ard Child” and “Illegitimate West Indian”.

Masaba, who is the daughter of actress Neena Gupta and cricket legend Vivian Richards , took to her social media accounts to share an open letter which she began as, “Like every other issue in this country, big or small, trolling and bashing began. By calling me names like ‘bastard child’ or illegitimate west Indian’ it only makes my chest swell in pride. I’m an illegitimate product of two most legitimate personalities you will find.”  She added that she has, over a period of time, become “immune” to these comments. “My legitimacy comes from the work I do and what my contribution to society has been. And you can try but you will not be able to raise a single finger on either of the two,” she added. (ALSO READ: Anil Kapoor Caught Peeping Into Sonam Kapoor’s Phone!)
