Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi: How different will be Ekta Kapoor’s take on unexpressed love?

Ekta Kapoor returns to her  favourite 10 PM slot but this time on Colors TV channel with her new Hindi daily soap under the banner Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi. The latest serial from Balaji Telefims is all about sorrow and pain of one sided love, portrayed via male protoganist’s point of view and is schedule to go on air from June 24.

Tthe show narrates the story of two friends Ranveer and Ishaani and the revolves around true friendship, trust, loyalty, and unending love. Serial showcases value and ethics of a huge Gujarati family and has popular actors like Shakti Arora Sarita Joshi, Gauri Pradhan Tejwani and many more. Radhika Madan makes her debut as the female protagonist.

The show marks the comeback of Gauri Pradhan Tejwani who plays a character too practical in life. Gauri became a popular face after featuring as the female lead in Ekta’s show “Kutumb”.

Ekta says while Gauri has only played positive roles till now, she would be seen as a character, bordering on the negative.

“Gauri is a brilliant actor…I am honoured that she is working with me again. I think it’s an interesting character, it’s different from what Gauri has done all these years on TV. She has a very pretty face so she has been given classically positive roles. I won’t say this is a negative role, but I wouldn’t classify it as a completely white character (either),” Kapoor said.

Elaborating on Gauri’s character, Ekta added: “She has a lot of edges, she plays a woman who is overtly practical. People can even call her stone-hearted because she gives importance to her mind and not her heart.

“She wants her daughters be like that, look pretty and marry right, marry not through heart but brain.”
