Few more days to go and the much awaited biopic ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ will hit the silver screens. The upcoming flick is special not just because of the star cast but mainly because it revolves around the life of the living legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The titular role is played by Sushant Singh Rajput and honestly, he has already won our hearts through the film’s posters, trailer and songs. Though Sushant cannot be the exact replica of Dhoni, he has managed to do a great job in terms of appearance and about the act, we’ll get to know once the movie releases. Speaking about the songs in this film, they are soothing and pleasant to the ears. Though it is not extraordinary it still has some special touch that we all love and it is really ruling our hearts.

All the songs in this ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ flick is composed by the young talent, Amaal Mallik. Those magical tunes, mellifluous vocals, meaningful lyrics have already made this album is a favourite for all the romantic hearts. The music is simple but yet you’ll be able to identify the variations. 1. Besabriyaan

Besabriyaan was the first song that the makers of the film had released and we think the decision was right. Instead of showing romance, they decided to give a glimpse of the real life hero Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s journey to the world of cricket. You could easily relate to every action and emotion portrayed in this song, the belief of achieving ones dreams is clearly shown here. The song is sung by Armaan Malik and the lyrics of it have been penned by Manoj Muntashir.

2. Kaun Tujhe

The song Kaun Tujhe depicts the love story of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his first love Priyanka Jha who passed away in a tragic accident in 2002. In the film, actress Disha Patani would be seen playing Priyanka’s role. Speaking about this song, it is a romantic track and it is a winner just because of its simplicity. The singer of this song Palak Muchhal whose sweet tone at some places matches to the versatile singer of the industry Shreya Ghoshal has done a brilliant job. Palak has set the mood right with her melodious voice. (ALSO READ: MS Dhoni: The Untold Story song Kaun Tujhe: Sushant Singh Rajput & Disha Patani beautifully depicts Dhoni’s love life)

3. Jab Tak

This is another love ballad from the film featuring Kiara Advani who plays the role of Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Dhoni. This less than three minutes song shows the beautiful chemistry of Sushant and Kiara with stunning locales in the background. The song is visually appealing, falls easy on the ears but we just wished the length of the song sung by Armaan Malik could have been bit longer. It just ended too soon. And for those of you who haven’t noticed, Jab Tak is the shortest song in the entire album.

4. Phir Kabhi

You guys won’t just fall in love with this song Phir Kabhi but even with the singer too. We needn’t even read the name in the credits but by just listening to the voice it’s understood who has sung it. The song is sung by none other than Arijit Singh. Again in this track, you’ll see how Mahi (Sushant) and Priyanka (Disha) found ways to spend quality time with each other. One will really get connected to the lyrics of this romantic track. 5. Parwah Nahin

Parwah Nahin is very different compared to other songs in the album. It is a highly energetic song composed with electric guitar and drumwork. The song is sung by Siddharth Basrur and it goes well with the concept of this film. But it really does not stand out like the songs above. The video of the song is not yet out, let’s wait and watch if the video helps this song to become a favourite in our playlist.

6. Jab Tak (Redux)

We expected Jab Tak (Redux) to have something interesting in terms of music compared to the original but there’s nothing great here. The song has a faster tempo and that’s it. The slower version is better. But music lovers, who don’t like soft slow pace track, will surely like this one.

7. Padhoge Likhoge

Padhoge Likhoge is sung by Ananya Nanda and Adithyan A Prithviraj. The beats of this song are catchy, will make you want to shake a leg but there is nothing in here that will make you tell wow. It’s a dhinchaak number that could be related to some particular sequence in the film and that’s it. You won’t want such song in your playlist.

Our Verdict

The songs in this biopic are a mixed bag of different tracks and the love ballad Kaun Tujhe is our favourite. Though there is some not-so-wow kind of songs too, the album will still be liked – thanks to the soft romantic tracks.
