After impressing us all with her performance in gritty courtroom drama Pink, Taapsee Pannu is back with yet another strong character in her next flick ‘Naam Shabana’.

The first look of the film starring Taapsee and Akshay Kumar just released and she is seen staring right into your eye with a fierce look on her face. She is dressed in a simple salwar-kameez, sans any makeup. Wondering why Khiladi Kumar isn’t in the poster? Well, look closely and you will spot his reflection very artistically merged into the backdrop. The Airlift superstar has a cameo in the movie.

Taapsee shared the first look of the film on Twitter and posted, “Humne rumaal rakh diya hai!! #31stMarch2017 #NaamShabana”

The film is directed by Shivam Nair, who has worked with Sriram Raghavan on Raman Raghav and also directed films like Ahista Ahista and the more recent Bhaag Johnny. Naam Shabana is said to be a prequel to the 2015 Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Baby’.
Taapsee Pannu has her fans all excited about the film and she herself is over the moon after bagging this project. In the film’s earlier franchise, Akshay Kumar played the lead role while in this one, seems like the female lead will be holding the reign. And this is confirmed by Akshay Kumar’s recent tweet about the film. In his tweet to Taapsee, Akki declared that the film belongs to her.

In her reply to the action King, Taapsee couldn’t contain her happiness as she revealed how it was like a dream coming true for her. The actress is getting great offers as far as Bollywood films go and she surely is happy. One of her recent tweets also gave us an idea of her current state of mind and also revealed how the girl believes in staying strong and going on.

We also can’t help but wonder at the timing of her next film announcement and her recent cover for a magazine. She tweeted the cover picture with the caption, “Breaking the mould and a lot of other things, quite literally.” And we couldn’t agree more. The actress is certainly taking the path less travelled and taking up meaty roles. With her choice of films, Taapsee seems to be joining the league of actresses like Vidya Balan, Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha and Deepika Padukone, who are redefining the concept of ‘Hero’ in Bollywood films.

A look into the posts she put up from the sets of the film, it seems like we will see Taapsee do some awe-inspiring action too in Naam Shabana. With this, Bollywood might get yet another action queen.
