Shoojit Sircar‘s October starring Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu has not just impressed the critics but also the audiences worldwide. The film that experienced a slow start on Friday, April 13, the day it hit screens, has shown nearly 48.21 % growth on Day 2. Through positive word of mouth and good reviews the collections of the film are definitely picking up. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures of the movie with a post that read, “#October shows a SUPER 48.21% GROWTH on Sat… Metros/plexes are clearly contributing heavily to the revenue… Should continue the upward trend on Sun… Fri 5.04 cr, Sat 7.47 cr. Total: ₹ 12.51 cr. India biz.”
Like Adarsh had earlier predicted, the film is indeed picking up its socks over the weekend. However, whether October will live up to the magic Varun Dhawan’s earlier blockbuster hits have created, only time will tell. The actor’s performance in the film has got everyone in and outside the industry talking. This is the first time Varun has shed his heroic onscreen persona for a subtle character-based role and boy, he has left all of us stunned. The talented actor essays the role of a carefree, nonchalant hotel management student named Dan who changes for the good following an incident that hits him hard and throws him off guard. Even Banita Sandhu’s acting has been highly appreciated. Given that this is her debut film, the industry has taken cognizance off her talent and we are expecting to see the actress in several films hereon. Meanwhile, take a look at Taran Adarsh’s post :
The movie released in around 1683 screens in India and a total of 625 overseas screen count. Previously, Varun had mentioned that he did not do October thinking of box office numbers. He stated that he went by his pure instinct and had followed through with Shoojit for almost a year to cast him in his film. Shoojit, on the other hand, too was all praises for Varun and has termed it his best performance to date.
