Akshay Kumar‘s latest outing PadMan, which released on Friday (January 9, 2018) opened to positive reviews on its first day. The film continues to show an upward trend at the box office. Akshay Kumar starrer PadMan has earned a little over Rs. 40 crore (as reported by Film Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh), and the current total of Akshay Kumar’s film now stands at Rs 45.92 crore.

According to the latest reports, the Akshay Kumar starrer has earned Rs 5.87 crore on its fourth day at the Box Office and now stands with the grand total of Rs 45.92 crore at the domestic box office. Earlier today, Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to his social media handle to share the official collection of the film, he wrote, “#PadMan maintains its pace on Mon… Fri 10.26 cr, Sat 13.68 cr, Sun 16.11 cr, Mon 5.87 cr. Total: ₹ 45.92 cr. India biz… Overseas opening weekend: $ 2.31 million [₹ 14.84 cr].”

Akshay Kumar’s latest outing PadMan is a fictional retelling of the real-life story of Arunachalam Muruganantham. In the R Balki-directorial, the ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ actor has stepped into the shoes of national hero Arunachalam, who is the inventor of low-cost sanitary napkins for women in rural areas. Besides Akshay, the film stars Radhika Apte, Sonam Kapoor in pivotal roles.

Written and helmed by R Balki and bankrolled by Twinkle Khanna under her home banner Mrs Funnybones Productions, the comedy-drama PadMan talks about one thing that most Indians are reluctant to talk about these days but needs to be discussed more often – menstruation and menstrual hygiene.
