Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte starrer released on Friday (January 9, 2018) and had opened to positive reviews on its first day. According to reports, the five-day collections of ‘PadMan’ has crossed Rs 50 crore mark, while it had opened to Rs 10.26 crore and made a jump of 35% on the second day, taking the collections to about Rs 13.50 crore at the domestic market. The film continues to show an upward trend at the box office after it picked up the pace on the second day. It is yet difficult to say whether Akshay’s film will be able to rake in good numbers by the closing of the weekend.
According to the latest reports, Akshay Kumar latest outing has earned Rs 6.12 crore yesterday and now stands with the grand total of Rs 52.04 crore at the domestic box office. Earlier today, Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to his social media handle to share the official collection of the film, he wrote, “#PadMan crosses ₹ 50 cr mark… Fri 10.26 cr, Sat 13.68 cr, Sun 16.11 cr, Mon 5.87 cr, Tue 6.12 cr. Written and helmed by R Balki and bankrolled by Twinkle Khanna under her home banner Mrs Funnybones Productions, the comedy-drama PadMan is a biopic on Arunachalam Muruganantham, who became a household name after inventing low-cost sanitary napkin making machines. The film talks about one thing that most Indians are reluctant to talk about these days but needs to be discussed more often – menstruation and menstrual hygiene. Watch this space for further updates.
