Ashutosh Gowariker is known to present some of the best period dramas in the most artistic way possible. And now after a long time, the actor has returned with yet another extravagant vision and to say that we cannot keep calm is an understatement. We can’t wait to go on a joyride with him through another chapter in History. The filmmaker plans to revive the third battle of Panipat with an ensemble of cast of Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in the lead. The Third Battle of Panipat is one of the most significant moments of the 18th century. The battle took place between a northern expeditionary force of the Maratha Empire and invading forces of the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali, supported by two Indian allies—the Rohilla Afghans of the Doab, and Shuja-ud-Daula, the Nawab of Awadh.

It was one of the bloodiest battles ever fought. Today the makers revealed the teaser poster of the film and we can’t seem to contain our excitement. Titled Panipat : The Great Betrayal, the film is set to release on December 6th next year. The poster that was unveiled today showcases a sword held firmly by a brave and courageous hand. The poster very well mirrors the fierce theme of the film. To say that we can’t wait to watch the see fierce battle on screen any longer, won’t be entirely wrong. During an interview with Midday, Ashutosh revealed that he is extremely excited to work with Sanjay, with whom he shared screen space, two years ago.Speaking about Arjun Kapoor, Gowariker said, “What impresses me most about Arjun, apart from his fine performances, is his dynamism. He has played double roles twice [Aurangzeb, 2013 and Mubarakan, 2017], and has portrayed an action hero as well as a lover boy.” For Kriti Sanon, he said that he was on the look out for a pretty face who was also a good performer, and needless to say, Kriti fit the bill effortlessly.
