Rajinikanth‘s upcoming film Kaala is one of the much-awaited films of the year. While fans were eagerly awaiting the release of Kaala trailer, there are chances that the film’s release might get postponed because of the ongoing strike by Tamil film producers. However, the censor formalities have been completed recently and Rajinikanth’s film has been awarded a U/A certificate. Yes, you read that right. In a statement to The News Minute, the sources close to the crew, said, “The film has been censored with 14 cuts.”

Helmed by Pa Ranjith and is produced by Rajinikanth’s son-in-law Dhanush, Kaala is a story of a man, who hails from Tamil Nadu but escapes to Mumbai. It traces his journey to becoming the righteous gangster from the Dharavi slums in the financial capital of the country. Kaala marks the 164th film of Rajinikanth’s elaborate career in which the actor essays the role of a slumlord-turned-gangster. Besides Rajinikanth, the film also stars actors Huma Qureshi, Nana Patekar, Anjali Patil and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles.

Speaking of the strike by Tamil film producers, Lyca Productions, who have bagged the distribution rights for the film, took to Twitter to extend its support to the Tamil Film Producers’ Council. The official handle of Lyca Productions tweeted, “We are in sync with the Producers Council and in complete support of the demands. We will comply with the same till the system is rectified. #TFPC.” ALSO READ: Kaala Teaser: Rajinikanth Yet Again In The Bad Boy Avatar, Sets The Screen On Fire – Watch Video
