Ram Charan is NOT starring with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Mani Ratnam's next

Just last week reports started doing the rounds that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has signed her next film, which will be directed by Mani Ratnam. There was no official confirmation from Aishwarya or Mani on this development, but a source close to Aishwarya told DNA, “Yes, Ash and Mani are doing a film together. It’s a romantic drama, which will be a bilingual and will be made in Hindi and Tamil. The two were in talks for a film for years and it’s finally happening.” Today, news broke out that Ram Charan has also come on board for this project as the male lead. However, the actor’s PR manager has squashed all these reports on Twitter. Check out her tweet right here:

Mani and Ram Charan have been dying to work with each other. In fact, Ram Charan, who was last seen in blockbuster Dhruva in one of his interviews said that he was suppose to do a film with Ratnam, but that didn’t materialise. “Mani Ratnam told me once when we met. We were planning to work in a film but that couldn’t happen. Then he told me just one thing: ‘You are a big star and you don’t have to worry about the market too, then why do you think from the perspective of sales. My film with you will be a different film in your career. Though it won’t give you much collection it would surely give you a name. So think about the subjects you choose in the future projects.’ This was the seed he planted in my mind and maybe the seed is the reason why Dhruva came today,” said Ram Charan at the success party of Dhruva that was held earlier this year. But looks like we will have to wait for more time to see Ram Charan in a Mani Ratnam film. ALSO READAishwarya Rai Bachchan celebrates her mother’s birthday with Aaradhya – view pic

Aishwarya, who like every year walked the red carpet of Cannes Film Festival recently made her acting debut in the 1997 with Ratnam’s political drama Iruvar. In that same year she made her Bollywood debut too Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya. So there is a special bond that Mani and Aishwarya share. We would have loved to see Aishwarya and Ram Charan in Ratnam’s next, but sadly that ain’t happening.
