Ranveer Singh fans (even those who aren’t cricket buffs) had a huge reason to look forward to Indian Premiere League 2018 since the actor was due to perform at the opening ceremony. However, it is not happening any more, thanks to his shoulder injury. His doctors have advised him so, to avoid aggravating the injury. The actor, who was last seen in Padmaavat, had injured his shoulder during a football match. He has been strictly advised by doctors to avoid performing at the cricket tournament’s opening ceremony on April 7.
Confirming the same, a statement from his spokesperson says, “After multiple medical checkups, the doctors have strongly advised Ranveer Singh not to perform at this year’s IPL opening ceremony in which he was doing the grand finale act. They feel his high-energy performance would only overstrain his shoulder and aggravate the injury.”
However, the actor has continued to shoot his film with Zoya Akhtar, “Ranveer will continue to shoot for ‘Gully Boy’ as per its shooting schedule which is not physically strenuous since only performance-based talkie scenes are left to be shot,” the spokesperson added. Incidentally, Alia Bhatt, who had also injured herself during Brahmastra schedule in Bulgaria, is now better and joined Ranveer on the sets of Gully Boy.
But while cine buffs will miss Ranveer Singh’s energetic performance at IPL, let us tell you there will be no dearth of entertainment as other stars like Varun Dhawan, Parineeti Chopra, and Jacqueline Fernandez and even Hrithik Roshan (who is being considered to replace Ranveer’s slot) are all slated to shake a leg at the event’s opening ceremony on April 7.
