The controversies around Padmavati cease to die down. Various outfits are asking for a ban on the Sanjay Bhansali film starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh. However, the film fraternity has come out in huge numbers to extend support to the film. The latest to join the pro-Padmavati team is Salman Khan. The actor, who has worked with Bhansali earlier in films like Hum Dil Chuke Sanam and Saawariya, says, “There is never anything wrong in Bhansali’s films. He only does good, honest work.”
Talking to a news channel, Salman opined that CBFC should take the issue up and make sure that Padmavati gets a smooth release. “Censor Board should get involved and invested in the Padmavati issue. How can anyone reach a conclusion and make assumptions about the film without even seeing it? Salman questioned.
Earlier today, the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) held a press conference where various personalities from the film industry came together to extend support to team Padmavati. Vikram Gokhale, actor and President CINTAA (Cine & TV Artists Association), who was also present at the conference specially mentioned Salman Khan and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap for supporting the film. He said, “It’s commendable how Salman Khan has come forward and extended his support to Padmavati. It was Anurag Kashyap earlier. If the film industry can’t back their own then what’s the point? Today it’s Bhansali, it can be someone else tomorrow.”
It was also revealed at the press conference that a protest will be held at Filmcity, Mumbai where filmmakers and people from all industries dealing in crafts will unite. It will be a silent protest. The IFTDA is also planning to write letter of Information And Broadcasting Miniter Smriti Irani to ensure that Padmavati gets a smooth release on December 1.
