Last month, when Salman Khan was confirmed for Remo D’Souza‘s Race 3, producer Ramesh Taurani had revealed that the superstar would be seen playing a negative character on screen for the first time in his career. According to insiders, the antagonist’s part in Race 3 is said to be the strongest character in the film’s plot. Perhaps, that’s why the makers felt that Salman would be perfect for the part, particularly since the audiences had never seen him play a villain before.

However, it seems that the actor is not too keen on playing a character with a grey personality. After giving it a lot of thought, he has reportedly decided to let go of the villain’ s role and play the protagonist instead, even though it may not be as impressive. A source close to the film told Deccan Chronicle, “Salman said no to the villain’s role in Race 3. The role has now gone to his friend Aditya Pancholi.” (ALSO READ:After Salman Khan And Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol To Join Race 3 Team)

Incidentally, this is not the first time that the Tubelight star has decided to let go of a villainous role. Apparently, he was approached to play Shah Rukh Khan’s role in Baazigar but refused it right away as he did not want to play a negative role on screen. Later on, Baazigar became fruitful for SRK who’s career took off thereon.

Salman always refuses to play anti-heros on screen as he is of the opinion that it is wrong on his part to set a morally wrong example for his fans, who look up to him. Farhan Akhtar, is another hero, who has decided to never play a negative role on screen because of the number of crimes and abuses that are on the increase in the society. Meanwhile, Salman is gearing up for his upcoming release, Tiger Zinda Hai, opposite Katrina Kaif, that is slated to release in December this year.
