Jhanvi Kapoor, who will be seen making her foray into Hindi filmdom with Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak, lost her mother (the veteran Bollywood actress) Sridevi a few weeks before her 21st birthday (which was on March 6) and she is yet to come to terms with the grave loss of her mother, who breathed her last on February 24 (due to accidental drowning in Dubai). Two days after ushering in her 21st birthday with family, the actress resumed shooting for Dhadak on Thursday morning (March 8, 2018), with her co-star Ishaan Khatter at Bandra’s Carter Road.
While we thought the debutante might take a break from work, however, she surprised the team by resuming work immediately as the film is slated to release on July 20, 2018. Well, it was Sridevi’s dream to watch her daughter’s debut film and the late veteran actress was highly invested in daughter Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming film and it seems that this is precisely why Janhvi does not want to delay Dhadak’s release.
Reportedly, Dhadak team resumed the shoot. Confirming the news, director Khaitan said, “Yes, we have resumed the shoot, rumours of the team taking a break are untrue. We have started off in Mumbai and are looking forward to the Kolkata schedule.”
In a statement to Mumbai Mirror, a source from the sets of the romance drama too revealed, “Janhvi and Ishaan will be shooting in Bandra for the next couple of days where they will film some romantic scenes. In the coming week, the duo will head to Kolkata to begin work on the story post-interval, when the lovers elope. They have completed the shoot of the first half which kicked off last December and was shot across Rajasthan and on a set in Mumbai where parts of the state were recreated.” ALSO READ: Here’s How Janhvi Kapoor Has Planned To Celebrate Her 21st Birthday
Janhvi, who recently (March 6) turned 21, celebrated her birthday with her family. The actress, on her birthday, decided to spend her time at an orphanage first, which is a ritual that Janhvi’s mother had initiated in the family, years ago and Janhvi wanted to continue this practice and share the joy with the less fortunate ones on her special occasion. Speaking of Dhadak, the film is the official Hindi remake of the 2016 Marathi runaway hit, Sairat, that had featured Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru in lead roles and helmed by Nagraj Manjule.
