Helmed by Sharat Katariya, Sui Dhaaga – Made In India is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s Make in India initiative. The film, that is bankrolled by Yash Raj Films, is slated to hit the silver screen on September 28, 2018. Earlier today, we saw some stills of Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma from the film Sui Dhaaga surface online and instantly it went viral. Going by the pictures, it seems like they were taken while shooting an emotional scene for the film. In the picture, Varun is seen donning a checkered shirt and pajama, while Anushka has draped a printed blue saree. Both are wearing minimal makeup. The scene is shot at Bhopal’s bus station.
Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma are all set to sizzle on-screen for the first time in Sui Dhaaga – Made In India. Talking about the film, Varun had earlier told a leading portal, “From Gandhiji to Modiji, our leaders have always endorsed the mantra of Made in India. With Sui Dhaaga, I am proud to take their message to millions of movie lovers in a way that is entertaining and relevant. I really liked the script that Sharat had written and I am happy that I am teaming up with YRF on this one. Anushka and I are pairing up for the first time so I am sure there will be fireworks.”
On the other hand, in a statement to the website, Anushka had said, “I always get excited with unique ideas that have human interest stories. SUI DHAAGA is a story of self-reliance that I believe will connect to the grassroots level with every Indian. On the professional front, Anushka will be next seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt biopic, which features Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. Apart from this, Anushka also has Aanand L Rai’s Zero, which also stars Katrina Kaif and Shah Rukh Khan, who will be playing a dwarf in the film. Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan had taken a day off from shoot to fly down to Mumbai for the promotions of his movie October, which releases on April 13, 2018. Watch this space for further updates.
