Adult movie star-turned-Bollywood actress Sunny Leone has completed 5 amazing years in Bollywood. She started with the film ‘Jism 2’ where she managed to raise the temperature and live up to the audience expectations who were pitting her against the uber hot Bipasha Basu. And there has been no looking back since then. Films like ‘Jackpot’, ‘Raagini MMS 2’, ‘Ek Paheli Leela’, ‘Kuch Kuch Locha Hai’ and ‘One Night Stand’ followed and there were some cameos and item songs where she grooved on screen. However, the actress still has to face judgment and is met with raised eyebrows. But that is not going to stop her stride. With an amazing and supportive husband, Daniel Weber, by her side, who by the way is also her manager, Sunny is sure that she is here to stay.

The actress is busy shooting for the film ‘Tera Intezaar’ directed by Raajeev Walia opposite Arbaaz Khan and is also the first ever-Indian celebrity to launch a mobile app. This marks her foray into the e-commerce industry and is touted as a great move. With the app Sunny aims to interact with her fans in a better, more personal way, “I think media will gossip about me anyway, but through this app what I can do is filter information before going out in the public domain, so they are authentic,” Sunny told IANS.

Accepting how Bollywood works:
“I had to adjust a little in the industry. I realised very quickly that Bollywood wasn’t going to change for me as far as how business is done, how things are done on sets.”

On being around and building her own brand:
“An actor’s career span isn’t an extensive one unless you are Amitabh Bachchan or one of the Khans. Therefore, for me, I want to build my brand so strong that I can do anything I want to even if this ends after my very next film.”

No regrets about the past:
“I wouldn’t be where I am if it wasn’t for my past. Have I turned the page and moved on in life? Yes, I have, but I wouldn’t have this popularity without that past. If I had come in as a new girl, who hadn’t done anything, I don’t think I would have risen to fame like I have.”

Bring on the trolls:
“People write all sorts of crazy stories about me. Every single day there’s some crazy story about me. If I had started worrying about them, I would have probably packed my bags and left for the US already”

On not being accepted by Bollywood:
“I don’t care about anybody else’s inhibitions or what they’re insecure with, if they want to work with me or not. It actually doesn’t affect me at all. I work every single day and I’m very happy for that. At first I definitely felt like an elephant in the room, people stare but don’t want to say hi. I just need five minutes with you and in those five minutes probably I could change your opinion of how you see me.” (Image credit: Sunny Leone Instagram)
