Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer Drive was announced for a Holi 2018 release, however looks like the film might get postponed. We hear a few portions of the film are yet to be shot and post production work will take time further, making it difficult for the makers to come out with the movie on the pre-decided date. The film is produced by Karan Johar and directed by Tarun Mansukhani and the crew has already shot two major schedules in Mumbai and Tel Aviv. But there are few more scenes pending to be canned.

Interestingly, the makers have not yet made an official confirmation about the film’s status. But last night’s announcement about Pari’s new release date has got everyone wondering. Anushka Sharma’s thriller was earlier scheduled for a February 9, 2018 release. That date is now taken by Sidharth Malhotra’s Aiyaary since it had to let go of the Republic Day date to avoid clash with Akshay Kumar’s Padman and Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor’s Padmavat. Anushka then took the next available date for Pari and with a scary teaser, announced the new release date as March 2, 2018. Now, it is highly unlikely that after avoiding a box office clash with Aiyaary, Anushka would choose a new date where she has to lock horns with another film.

Even if one argues that both Pari and Drive belong to different genres and will not really eat into each other’s business, they will have just a normal three day weekend to attract audience to the theatres. Even though these will be festive releases, Pari or Drive will not enjoy a long weekend since March 2 (Holi) is falling on a Friday. In such a scenario it remains to be seen if the team of Drive still goes ahead with a Holi 2018 release. India.com contacted producer Karan Johar and director Tarun Mansukhani to get clarity on this but both chose not to respond.
