Anupam Kher‘s first look from the sets of The Accidental Prime Minister is finally here. The first look of the actor as Dr Manmohan Singh (the former Prime Minister of India), has left people mesmerised. Earlier today, film trade analyst took to his micro-blogging site to share the look. Alongside the picture, he wrote, “Anupam Kher’s look from #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister… The political drama based on the book by Sanjaya Baru… Costars Akshaye Khanna… Vijay Ratnakar Gutte directs… Hansal Mehta is the creative producer… Produced by Bohra Bros… Filming commences in London… 21 Dec 2018 release.”

The uncanny resemblance between the two veterans has been ensured for a movie on the political honcho, titled ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’, whose shooting has already commenced in London. The film is an upcoming biographical political film, based on the life of Dr Manmohan Singh, the economist and politician, who served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014 under the United Progressive Alliance.

Anupam Kher also shared the look on his Twitter handle and wrote, “Happy to share my first look of #DrManmohanSingh, India’s Former Prime Minister from the movie #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister directed by #VijayRatnakarGutte & produced by #BohraBrothers. Creative producer is @mehtahansal. Speaking of playing the former Prime Minsiter in the film, Anupam Kher, in a statement to Economic Times, said, “Acting the role of anyone in contemporary history is extremely challenging, as comparisons are bound to be instant and inevitable. But as I have always revelled in challenges, right from my first film Saaransh.” Helmed by Vijay Gutte and written by Hansal Mehta, the film is based on 2014 memoir of the same name by Sanjay Baru. The film also features Akshaye Khanna in a pivotal role. The film is scheduled to release on December 21, 2018.
