Ranveer Singh has been making news since quite a long time. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati just went on floors and the actors have started preparing for it. Ranveer will be playing Alauddin Khilji in this magnum opus which also stars Sahhid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. His film Befikre is also set to release soon which features him and Vaani Kapoor in a bindas avatar! Recently there was one more issue that engulfed Ranveer Singh and that is his alleged ‘sexist’ ad campaign with international clothing brand Jack and Jones. Tamil actor Siddharth had slammed the campaign calling it sexist. Ranveer had also apologised for the ad and it was eventually taken down. Amid all this, Ranveer was delighted with an achievement! Ranveer Singh just got honoured with Esquire’s International Man of the Year award!
The Befikre actor just shared this achievement on Twitter by posting two pictures. He captioned it, “Honoured! Esquire Y’all are far too kind!” ” Thank you @esquire But the best is yet to come!” Now with this caption, we wonder if Ranveer Singh is hinting toward his next release, Padmavati. Will it be a career best from the stellar performer?
Padmavati is one of the most anticipated movies and there are several amazing reasons for that! For starters, Ranveer Singh is for the first time playing a negative role since he has entered B-town. The role of Alauddin Khilji has made him super focused and he has been preparing for it like crazy. The Bajirao Mastani actor started reading books on the characters in history who resembled the character of Alauddin Khilji. His reading matter include some of the darkest rulers of history including the bad man Hitler!
As reported in Koimoi.com, a source said, “Ranveer is prepping his body language, mannerisms, diction and physique. He is holed up in his Goregaon apartment and has himself off from people. For many hours in the day, he transforms into Khilji working on his dialogues and diction.” He also had to undergo training after Befikre, to have a physical appearance close to the character of Alauddin and for that he works out 3 hours per day! He also recently moved into his new apartment in Goregaon which he calls his ‘workshop’. There is no network in there and that helps him concentrate on his role. Padmavati also has Deepika Padukone in the lead and she herself will play the the role of Rani Padmavati aka Padmini in this grand film. However, unlike Bajirao Mastani, Deepika won’t be opposite Ranveer Singh but will play the wife of Rana Rawal Ratan Singh donned by Shahid Kapoor. This is for the first time that Deepika and Shahid will be seen together on the silver screen. Deepika and Ranveer took the their chemistry on an another level in Bajirao Mastani. Now, with this new pairing, we are curious to see what magic it creates on the fans.
Not to forget the most important thing, the movie is a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film! We all know that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has always given us diverse period dramas and spectacular love tales in the past. His sets, songs, story, cast and use of culture is what audience likes the most! Movies like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Saawariya, Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani have gained immense praise from everyone. Bhansali does not compromise on anything when it comes to grandeur and that makes his film a visual treat for the audience. Padmavati too has huge sets which are structured in Mehboob Studios in Bandra. The director is particular about his sets and has strictly banned people and media to enter it! These reasons and more such, naturally makes Padmavati a bigger film than anyone can imagine. The movie will have songs composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself! We loved his music in Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani and we are damn sure that Padmavati will also be a musical treat for us. So, we are on the edge of our seats waiting for the movie to get released. What do you think? Do let us know!
