Akshay Kumar and  Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha finally released yesterday and it has had its fair share of buzz generated among the crowds. The film was always tipped to be running hit as the film mot only promised entertainment but also takes a stand against an important national issue. However,  as the makers must’ve liked, the film isn’t receiving praise from everyone. This far there have been a series of mixed reviews, with rating ranging from 1.5 to 4 stars on several leading websites. So in this confusion, lets just settle it with the box office numbers.

Akshay Kumar again does prove his credentials as one of the most bankable actor in the industry. The numbers from the opening day of the film have come in and here they are. Released in over 3000 screens in India, Toilet Ek Prem Katha received 30-35 of per cent occupancy on the first day. Trade analyst, Taran Adarsh tweets: #ToiletEkPremKatha Fri ₹ 13.10 cr. India biz… Sat and Sun look better… Biz to get big boost on Tue [Independence Day]… #TEPK. With Independence day being another public holiday on the cards, it is a big boost for the makers.

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is a story of a newly married couple, where the wife, disgusted by the open-defecation culture, lashes out and runs away from her husband’s house. The husband then takes up the mission to bring his wife back to his house by ensuring that his village is open-defecation free. The film released yesterday, August 11, 2017.
