Trailer Review: Daawat-e-Ishq; This season Ishq gets bitter

After the success of Ishaqzaade, the national award winning director Habib Faisal is back again with another ‘bitter’ love story. Dawaat-e-Ishq stars Aditya Roy Kapoor, Pareenti Chopra and Anupam Kher in the pivotal roles.

The movie has been shot in the picturesque locations of Hyderabad and Lucknow. Parineeti Chopra is playing the role of Gulrez ‘”Gullu” Qadir, a shoe-sales girl who is embittered of love because of the dowry system in the country. On the other side, is our Lucknowi cook Tariq “Taru” Haidar (Aditya Roy Kapoor), who has the ability to allure anyone with his mouth-watering dishes. Gullu and Taru discover the love between them that makes their life ‘sweet’ and ‘spicy’. Their story will witness a ‘bitter’ turn, when Taru realizes that the love wasn’t true and it was just settled in peer pressure.

The basic plot of the movie seems to be engaging. The Hyderabadi touch to the movie also looks surprisingly pleasant. It felt flat in the recently released, Bobby Jasoos. The music of the movie is composed by Sajid-Wajid, and sounds decent in the promo. Writer-Director Habib Faisal previously has also directed critically acclaimed movie ‘Do Dooni Chaar’.

The expectations are also high from this movie. As both the leading stars, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra are on the crest, enjoying their last successes in Aashiqui 2 and Hasee Toh Phasee respectively.

Produced under the banner of Yash Raj Films, this movie is slated for September 5th release.
