Varun Dhawan is an actor par excellence. Within a short span of time he has floored everyone with his impeccable acting abilities and dance movies, having delivered box office hits after hits and proving himself to be an actor who is definitely here to stay. He also has a repertoire of brilliant movies lined up such as Sui Dhaaga and October which are expected to be real game changers for him. We all know that he began his journey in Bollywood with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year alongside Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra. However, does anyone know that the actor who hasn’t had a single failure since his debut, was initially rejected during the auditions of two very special movies before Student of the year happened.

Which movies, you ask? Well, the two films are—1)Academy Award winning movie Life of Pi (that later went to Delhi boy Suraj Sharma) and Aamir Khan production Dhobi Ghat (that went to Prateik Babbar). The actor made an appearance at an event called Jagran Cinema Summit recently hosted by journalist and critic Mayank Shekhar where he divulged this secret. As per an earlier report in DNA, Varun had mentioned during a a debate on nepotism  that he had once auditioned for Aamir Khan’s Dhobi Ghat without informing anyone and the moment his father got a whiff of it, he got him out of the film as he was still unprepared to face the camera. While we knew about him auditioning for Dhobi Ghaat, we were honestly not aware about his tryst with Life Of Pi.  (ALSO READ:Did Varun Dhawan Kick Taapsee Pannu While Shooting Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12?)

Well, the actor must have lost out on these two wonderful movies, but the trajectory of his career this far is a perfect example of the saying, “All’s well that ends well”. The only average movie he has given so far is Dishoom. 2017, which has been quite a lackluster year for most actors including Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, had Varun Dhawan giving a hit in the form of Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya. He is definitely one of the most promising actors from this generation. Currently he is gearing up for the release of his next film, Judwaa 2 where he stars alongside Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez. The film is a reprised version of the 1997 Salman Khan starrer movie titled Judwaa. Helmed by his father, David Dhawan the film is expected to hit the screens on September 29 and if the trailer and songs are anything to go by, we’re sure, this will turn out to be yet another feather in Varun’s hat.
