When Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone channelled their own break-up while shooting for Tamasha

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s movie Tamasha will premiere on &pictures on Saturday, June 25 at 8:30 pm IST. The World Television Premiere of Tamasha will also showcase 15 minutes of unseen shots of the movie, which will include a scene where Ranbir Kapoor meets a girl in a club post the break-up with Deepika Padukone in the film. But what we are more interested in is how Ranbir and Deepika shot for the break-up scene! The two hot stars were once dating and were the most talked about couple in B-town. But something turned sour between them and they broke up, forever!

Director Imtiaz Ali has shed light on how he made Ranbir and Deepika shoot the break-up scene. He spoke about how he let his lead actors take charge and enact the scene the way they wanted.

Imtiaz said, “Sometime in our lives we come across some situations which are extremely personal but get exposed to people. As much as we want them to be sheltered in the corners of privacy, there are moments when certain things hit us and unwillingly we react in a public place amidst everyone. That is embarrassing but beyond control. For that break-up scene in the movie, when I briefed Ranbir and Deepika, I didn’t tell them to cry or shout but it came out naturally. I believe Ranbir and Deepika must have experienced such situations in their lives and hence they invested those emotions in the scene which made it look smooth. They are talented actors and can effortlessly do that.”

Wow! That means Ranbir and Deepika channelled the feelings of their own emotional break-up while shooting that scene in Tamasha that we all liked. They also let their emotions flow in the song Agar Tum Saath Ho that brings a tear to your eye. It must’ve been so sentimental for them and must’ve brought back memories they had rather forget!

But this is not the first movie Ranboo and Dippy have co-starred in post their split. They also did their best friend Ayan Mukerji’s film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani where they do have a break-up but come back together in the end. Watch the song Kabira from the movie that says it all!

Also watch the bonus scene from Tamasha we were talking about!
