The latest trend in Bollywood is to see A-list actresses like Anushka Sharma and Priyanka Chopra, coming up with their own production houses, apart from their flourishing acting careers. While Priyanka Chopra has a production house called Purple Pebble Pictures, Anushka Sharma has one called, Clean Slate Films. In fact, Sharma is also all set to bag the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award in the Category of the Best producer. Now after these two successful ladies, reports indicate that Deepika Padukone is all set to don the hat of a producer. The actress currently has no projects in the pipeline with Vishal Bhardwaj’s Sapna Didi biopic being pushed due to Irrfan Khan’s ailment. The actress is now turning producer for one of her upcoming ventures.

A report in the Asian Age stated that Deepika is focusing on setting up her own production house and that she wants to be associated with interesting and content-driven films. Interestingly, the actress had expressed her wish of donning a producer’s hat in several of her interviews. In 2015, she told PTI, “I want to venture into production and be a producer or line producer someday because I feel I have that kind of personality. I like to organize, put things together and make things happen. I don’t want to be a producer because I want to make money.”  Well, looks like the actress finally has the time to make her long cherished dream come true.
