Australian Open 2014: Novak, Serena move to third round; Sabine falters

15th seeded Sabine Lisicki became the biggest casualty on Day 3 of Australian Open 2014. Serena Williams and Na Li moved easily to the third round with their straight sets victory over their respective opponents. Serena Williams is looking to equal the record of Martina Navartilova and Chris Evert by wining the 18th grand slam.  From the men’s side, defending champion continued his march towards the next round by wining comfortably over Argentine Mayer in straight sets

Today also marked the beginning of doubles matches. India has pinned their hopes on Mahesh Bhupati and Yuki Bhambri who began their campaign with wins in their respective matches.
