A shocking car accident rocked Bangladesh cricket as one of the premier cricketers of the country Abdur Razzak and his family suffered serious injuries due to a freakish car accident on his way to Dhaka from Khulna district of Bangladesh.

Razzak’s injury has rocked Bangladesh cricket fraternity as it reminded them another incident which snatched life of young cricketer Manjural Islam Ranahappened just before the 2007 World Cup. The bike accident is still fresh among the Bangladesh cricketer fraternity.

However, after getting some medical treatment Razzak was declared safe. According to local reports, the incident has happened in Kashiani area of Gopalganj district where his family was on their way to Dhaka after celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr in Bagerhat. The car had fallen in a roadside ditch on Dhaka-Khulna highway after one of the tyres exploded. Alongside, Razzak, his wife Ishrat Jahan Oni, two-year-old son Adian, his sister and two nieces were also in the car.

After the accident came in new former Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim took to social media to announce the tragic news.

“Our very own Razzak Raz that had a severe accident on his way from Khulna. I request you all to pray for him please!!!” the wicketkeeper-batsman wrote. Also read: Mechanical engineer wants to be coach of Indian cricket team, applies for job

Razzak, who played 153 ODIs and 34 T20Ism, is the first Bangladesh bowler to take 200 wickets in 50 overs cricket. Apart from his bowling skills, he is also fondly remembered for achieving quickest half-century for Bangladesh during a match against Zimbabwe on May 5, 2013.
