Something that helps last season’s Champions League finalists is the return of prolific striker Robert Lewandowski from suspension. The Pole was terribly missed as Borussia Dortmund lacked the cutting-edge at the final-third against Real Madrid. The Germans can also take comfort from their remarkable 4-1 semi-final first leg win at home last season where Robert Lewandowski terrorized Madrid’s defence to grab all the four goals.

A similar performance from the German powerhouse would see them then rely on Real Madrid to have an off-day, which would seem like too much to ask. Real Madrid boast the attacking-trio of Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. To keep them quiet would take a lot from the Dortmund defence.

Cristiano Ronaldo who injured himself in the 3-0 from the first leg meeting missed the 3-0 victory against Real Sociedad at the weekend. The Portuguese is set to return though.

Dortmund on the other hand, have had terrible luck with injuries this season and Klopp faces a huge task to put out a solid midfield as defensive midfielder Sebastian Kehl will be out with suspension. Add to that the absence of both Sven Bender and Ilkay Gundogan through injury. Kevin Grosskreutz might slot into the center of midfield.
