Commonwealth Games 2014: Day 8 schedule of Indian players in action at CWG 2014

India so far at Commonwealth Games has bagged 41 medals which include 10 prized gold, 19 silver and 12 bronze. The overall medals tally of 41 means India occupy sixth place on the standings. On day eight India will be eyeing coveted medals which are up for grabs. Here we bring to you the schedule of Indian players who will be competing for glory on Day 8 of the Commonwealth Games 2014.

Athletics: Vikas Goawda who topped the qualification after an impressive performance will be contesting in Men`s Discus Throw finals while in Women’s Discus Throw Krishna Poonia will be in action in Qualifying Round. Tintu Luka who qualified yesterday for Women`s 800m semi-final will be eyeing the final spot.

Cycling road: In Cycling events Indian’s will be in action in both Men’s and Women’s Individual Time Trial.

Hockey: India men’s hockey team will face South Africa in the preliminary match.

Badminton: Parupalli Kashyap, Gurusai Datt, Srikaanth Kidambi, P. C. Thulasi and PV Sindhu will be action in Men’s and Women’s doubles Round of 16, Men’s and Women’s singles Round of 16 and Mixed doubles Round of 16.

Diving: Men’s 3m springboard preliminary and Women’s 10m platform preliminary.

Gymnastics: Men’s Floor Final, Men’s Pommel Horse Final and Men’s Rings Final while in Women’s category Women`s Vault Final and Women`s Uneven Bars Final are the events where Indians will be sweating it out.

Squash: Harinder Pal Sandhu and Joshana Chinappa will take on Papua New Guinea’s Schubert Maketu and Eli Webb in Mixed Doubles Pool G fixture.

Wrestling: Babita Kumari and Geetika Jakahar will be in action in Women`s Freestyle 55kg Quarterfinal and Women`s Freestyle 63kg Round of 16 respectively. In Men’s division Yogeshwar Dutt and Pawan Kumar will contest Men`s Freestyle 65kg Round of 32 and Men`s Freestyle 86kg Round of 16 respectively.
