In a post-match press conference, Peter Borren was emotional and questioned International Cricket Council’s (ICC) attitude towards Associate Nations. “It’s a pretty emotional dressing room. Guys have put a lot of work into this campaign. It started a year ago or close to that starting with the first part of the qualifier in Ireland and Scotland. We shared that trophy and played some really good cricket. We sit here now after playing three hours of cricket against Bangladesh, where we came up short. It’s extremely disappointing. Obviously we can’t do anything about the weather”, Borren said in a press conference as quoted by ESPNCricnfo.

“There are obviously questions about how much we’ve had to do to get to this stage as it is. We’ve won a lot of games and an eight-run loss to Bangladesh, and we’re gone. It’s hard to take.” Borren added. Also Check- ICC T20 World Cup 2016 Schedule

Just before the start of the match, Borren in his tweet indirectly criticised the ICC as Netherlands have very few matches to play this year.

Later, Ireland too was knocked out as their match against Bangladesh was abandoned due to rain. “I haven’t heard Peter’s interview, so I don’t know what he has said but yeah this has been the bugbear for a while. That is why the ICC has the tournament in two phases because they will lose a lot of revenue if one of the top nations go out to any of us in the early rounds,” said Porterfield in the press conference as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Remember, in the last edition of World T20 Netherlands qualified for Super 10 round and then defeated England by 45 runs.
