Dubai World Super Series Finals: PV Sindhu Beats Japan’s Sayaka Sato, Enters Semi-finals

While Sato had taken a two-point lead in the beginning, Sindhu took over and continued to control the game. And once she had taken control of the game, she continued to move up against Sato.

Dubai, Dec 14: PV Sindhu beat Japan’s Sayaka Sato 21-13, 21-12 and reached the semi-finals of Dubai World Super Series Finals. In a record second straight Group A win, Sindhu took just 36 minutes to soar towards victory in her second match of the tournament.

In Game 1, Sindhu lead 3-2 and then 7-4. With time, she took an 11-8 lead at the mid-game break. By 9:20 PM, PV Sindhu had won the first game 21-13 in just first 20 minutes. In next few minutes, PV Sindhu was leading 14-7 in Game 2 and by 9:37 PM, she was two points away from victory.

While Sato had taken a two-point lead in the beginning, Sindhu took over and continued to control the game. And once she had taken control of the game, she continued to move up against Sato.

On Wednesday, Sindhu had defeated China’s He Bingjiao 21-11, 15-21, 21-18 in just a little over 64 minutes. On Friday, Sindhu will take on world No 2 Akane Yamaguchi of Japan.

Earlier in the day, Kidambi Srikanth failed to defeat Chinese Taipei’s Chou Tien Chen and crashed out of the tournament. He will now face Shi Yuqi, third seed, tomorrow in his last match.
