The 2013-14 English Premier League season is drawing to a close, with just 6 games left. The title race is ever-so-tight and so is the relegation battle. Every single match till Week 38 will be crucial for every team. Liverpool currently hold the top spot but Chelsea and Manchester City are breathing down their neck. The weekend kicks-off with Manchester City’s game against Southampton which should be a breeze for Manuel Pellegrini’s men. City are looking to take advantage of the two games they have in hand. If they could grab maximum points from their games  they can overtake both Chelsea and Liverpool to sit pretty on the top of the English Premier League.

Manchester United travel to Newcastle looking to keep their good run of results going. After their 4-1 win at Old Trafford to Aston Villa last weekend, David Moyes’ men fought well against Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich for a 1-1 result at Old Trafford in the Champions League. Although Newcastle have been going through a terrible season themselves and are coming into the game after two defeats, they can take solace from the win they nicked at Old Trafford.

Chelsea welcome Stoke City to the Stamford Bridge for Saturday’s final EPL game. Stoke are in an incredible run of form and are unbeaten in their last five games. Chelsea on the other hand are going through a rut. Their 3-1 loss against PSG in the week added to the shock defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend and must surely ring the alarm bells for Chelsea. Their title challenge seems dented with the loss against Palace and they will be hoping to grab wins.

Sunday sees Arsenal travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton who have been impressive this season. Arsenal were on top at the start of March but have seen themselves drift away to the fourth spot. Everton could still come up with enough wins to challenge Arsenal for the Champions League spot. What better way to start a winning run of form against Arsenal itself?

The weekend ends with West Ham welcoming Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool. The Merseyside club have had a great season in the English Premier League and have gone on to play a beautiful brand of football with the strike partnership of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge. West Ham will count heavily on former Red Andy Carroll to cause any sort of scare for Liverpool.
