Heino Kuhn, Andile Phehlukwayo in South Africa’s squad for England Tests

South Africa have included uncapped opening batsman Heino Kuhn and allrounder Andile Phehlukwayo for the four-Test series against England, starting next month.

South Africa have included uncapped opening batsman Heino Kuhn and allrounder Andile Phehlukwayo for the four-Test series against England, starting next month.

Both players replace Stephen Cook and Wayne Parnell respectively, who had played in the last series against New Zealand. Dane Piedt has also been dropped and the selectors have named one spinner in Keshav Maharaj.

The Proteas have also included another uncapped player, Aiden Markram as cover for Faf du Plessis who won’t be playing the first Test. AB de Villiers also pulling out of the Test series, it would be Dean Elgar leading the side in the warm-up match and the first Test.

Squad:

Faf du Plessis (capt), Hashim Amla, Temba Bavuma, Theunis de Bruyn, Quinton de Kock, JP Duminy, Dean Elgar, Heino Kuhn, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, Morne Morkel, Chris Morris, Duanne Olivier, Andile Phehlukwayo, Vernon Philander, Kagiso Rabada.
