Gold Coast, April 13: In a major low to the Indian contingent, paddler G.Sathiyan registered a 4-0 loss against England’s Samuel Walker in the men’s singles quarter-finals at the Commonwealth Games 2018 here on Friday.

The premier Indian table-tennis player lost 8-11, 8-11, 11-13 in straight games to his England counter-part.

Sathiyan did not look in contention of clinching the game from the onset. However, in the third game he returned to show up some challenge against the English but failed to get hold off it.

Meanwhile, in the fourth game Sathiyan started well to pull out a 5-3 lead, but Walker returned to make it 5-a piece in a game which stayed neck-in-neck throughout. But still the Indian failed to clinch the game.
