Gold Coast, Apr 15: Manika Batra and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran won bronze for India in mixed doubles table tennis at Commonwealth Games 2018 on Sunday. The duo beat Achanta Sharath Kamal and Mouma Das 11-6, 11-2, 11-4 to clinch table tennis mixed doubles bronze medal. With this bronze, India’s medal tally increases to 60.

Earlier, Manika Batra created history on Saturday and became the first Indian paddler to win a women singles gold at the Commonwealth Games. She outplayed Mengyu Yu of Singapore 4-0 (11-7, 11-6, 11-2, 11-7) to clinch the gold medal in women’s singles table tennis.

India’s Harmeet Desai and Sanil Shankar Shetty bagged the bronze medal in the men’s doubles table tennis competition at the 21st Commonwealth Games. The Indian duo outclassed Singapore’s Pang Yew En Koen and Poh Shao Feng Ethan 3-0 (11-5, 11-6, 12-10).
