New Delhi, Mar 24: In order to further strengthen his batting in England conditions, Indian skipper Virat Kohli is set to make his County cricket debut as he might be seen playing for Surrey .
As per reports, Kohli might opt to skip the one-off Test match against Afghanistan which is slated to get underway from June 14 at Bengaluru.
The decision to take up a stint in County cricket straight post the conclusion of Indian Premier League (IPL) season, might also come in as a boost for Kohli, who will lead the India cricket team for 3 Twenty20 International (T20I), similar number of One-Day International (ODI) and five Test in England scheduled to begin from July 3.
However, it still remains to be seen how Kohli with a Test batting average of 53.40 benefits the Surrey who are scheduled to play three four-day matches against Hampshire, Somerset and Yorkshire which is scheduled to commence from June 9 to 28.
Meanwhile, reports also suggest India top-order batsman Cheteshwar Pujara might extend his contract with Yorkshire which will lead him to taking on Kohli as a counter-part.
