India's men's and women' s archery recurve teams finished 15th and 10th after the qualification rounds of the World Archery Championships.

Indian teams advance in Archery World Championships

Copenhagen, July 28: India’s men’s and women’ s archery recurve teams finished 15th and 10th after the qualification rounds of the World Archery Championships. The men’s team of Jayanta Talukdar (628), Rahul Banerjee (641) and Mangal Singh Champia (636) cored a total of 1905 to make it to the knock out round here on Monday.

The women’s team trio of Deepika Kumari (657), Laxmirani Majhi (629) and Rimil Buriuly (621) got a combined total of 1907 after 216 arrows. In the individual competition, former world No.1 Deepika finished eighth.

The men’s compound team of Abhishek Verma (697), Rajat Chauhan (678) and Kawal Preet Singh (675) finished third in the qualification round. They shot a total of 2050. The women’s coumpound team of Purvasha Shende (678), V. Jyothi Surekha (663) and P. Lily Chanu (663) claimed sixth spot in the qualification round. They earned a total of 2004.
