IPL 2014, DD vs CSK: Duminy and Jadhav steer Delhi Daredevils to 178

After losing two early wickets Dinesh Karthik and Murali Vijay staged a fight back for Delhi Daredevils. The duo added 71 runs for the 3rd wicket and then late onslaught by JP Duminy and Kedar Jadhav helped DD post 178-5 after Chennai Super Kings elected to field first.

In 4th over of DD innings Quinton de Kock (24) was tragically run out at non strikers end and one ball later captain Kevin Pietersen was
castled for an one ball duck, with scoreboard reading 37-2. Murali Vijay and Dinesh Karthik then brought stability in DD innings as duo kept scoring at a healthy run-rate. Ben Hilfenhaus ended the stand when he had Karthik (51) caught at deep square leg.

Laxmi Shukla (0) and Vijay (35) lost their wickets in space of three overs to leave DD tottering at 120 -5. Lustrous hitting down the order by JP Duminy and Kedar Jadhav took DD to a respectable score of 178/5 in 20 overs. The pair demolished CSK bowlers towards the end and collected 58 runs in no time. Duminy scored unbeaten 28 off17 balls while Jadhav too did not lost his wicket and scored 29 off 18 balls. In last three overs both batsmen added 44 runs.

Mohit Sharma was expensive (1-51) while spinners Ashwin (1-23) and Jadeja (1-29) were reasonable.
