Royal Challengers Bangalore seamers exploited conditions after offering Sunrisers Hyderabad to bat first and regulated them to 155-6
in 20 overs. Mitchell Starc drew the first blood when a sharp bouncer ricocheted off Aaron Finch’s (13) gloves to keeper. Lokesh Rahul (6) then slashed hard outside the off-stump and was caught by Chris Gayle in the slip.
Sunrisers Hyderabad was two down for 29 in four overs. Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner then led the SRH fight back as the duo took score close to hundred. Both the batsmen had to work their way out as runs did not came at an easy pace. Shikhar Dhawan looking to accelerate found AB de Villiers in the deep, who pouched a simple catch to see back of SRH Captain for 36 ball 37 runs. The stand between Warner and Dhawan for the 3rd wicket was worth 62 runs.
Darren Sammy (8) who hit Harshal Patel for a six holed out two balls later to Starc at deep mid-wicket leaving SRH 115-4 at the end of 16 overs. Warner slashed his 3rd half century of this season as wickets at other end kept tumbling. He along with Naman Ojha (15) added quick-fire 34 for 5th wicket to take SRH reach closer to 150. Warner scored 61 off 49 balls before Starc rattled his stumps in the
last over, Irfan Pathan (4*) hit a boundary off last ball to see SRH post 155-6. Ashok Dinda and Harshal Patel picked one wicket each in their four overs. Yuzvendra Chahal who has been impressive in games so far went wicket less for 30 runs. Both Varun Aaron and Mitchell Starc managed to pick two wickets.
