Kolkata Knight Riders’ Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 campaign came to an end after suffering a six-wicket defeat against Mumbai Indians in the second qualifier at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. KKR had won the eliminator against defending champions at the same venue.

The second qualifier proved to be a one-sided affair as Knight Riders were bundled out for just 107. KKR were one of the favourites to lift the IPL 2017 trophy, but their stint ended on a disappointing note. Knight Riders had finished fourth on the points table to qualify for the playoffs. Captain Gautam Gambhir post the lost to Mumbai took to Twitter to thanks KKR supporters. Gambhir tweeted, “Tks for being a wonderful support 4 @KKRiders,but 4 u all this journey won’t have been fun. Tried our best may b our best wasn’t good enuff.”

Not only Gambhir, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner earlier sent a similar message to SRH supporters. Warner took to Twitter and tweeted: “Thanks to all the @SunRisers fans for all your support. It means a lot to us as a franchise and players.”
