Netherlands needed 190 in 14.2 overs to qualify for Super10 and things looked bleak for them, but they got off to a boisterous start and in no time raced to in 91/1 first six overs. Openers Peter Borren (31) and Stephan Myburgh (63) displayed lustrous stroke making and added runs 91 for the opening stand. On the last ball of PowerPlay Borren was dismissed, seven balls later Myburgh lost his wicket while looking to keep up with required run rate. Van Beek (1) was then promoted up the order but he failed to deliver and Netherlands sloped to 100/3.

Tom Cooper (45) hit six monstrous sixes and a four as he along with Wesley Barresi (40*) notched up a express 61 run partnership of 24 balls. After Cooper’s dismissal who played a cameo off just 15 balls, Netherlands hopes seem to dim away but Barresi kept milking Irish bowlers as he hit three sixes towards the end. The Netherlands extraordinarily finished the game in just 13.5 overs and saw themselves qualifying for Super10 stage from group B thus eliminating Ireland and Zimbabwe.

Irish bowlers looked hapless and could not stop the Netherlands flow of runs. Kevin O’Brien in three overs gave away 29 runs and picked two wickets
