Woahhh!!What a brilliant game of football we witnessed today. First Half itself saw 5 goals in total. The first goal came as early as the fourth minute when a brilliant free kick by Jerry Lalrinzuala put Chennaiyin FC in the lead. Their joy was short-lived though as a couple of minutes later, Rafael Luiz scored the equaliser. From there on, it was more like a boxing bout with both teams exchanging punches.

An own goal conceded by Gregory Arnolin allowed Chennai to retake the lead in the 14th minute. It was nullified once more in the 21st minute when Joffre Gonzalez converted a penalty. With things levelled 2-2, a defensive lapse by FC Goa handed a chance to Omagbemi, who earned the third goal for his side. Chennai went into the third half with the lead of one Goal. The second half started off on a contrasting note, as the game lacked the fire of the first.

Halfway through the second half, however, the tempo quickly stepped up as Sahil Tavora evened the scores for FC Goa. Soon after, Rafael Coelho Luiz brought FC Goa into the lead for the first time in the match by scoring his brace. From leading by one goal at the end of the first half, Chennai was now trailing by one goal. It looked liked game will end with final score of 4-3 with Goa winning at the end of the game but there was some late drama left in the match.

In the 88th minute of the game, Raju Gaikwad made a blunder and committed an awkward handball inside the penalty area, which resulted in the spot-kick for Chennai. John Arne Riise stepped in to take the penalty and drilled it with ferocious pace past the keeper to make it 4-4. But, that wasn’t the last goal of the match as Goa was not in the mood to settle for a draw.

In the 93rd minute of the match, Sahil Tavora scored a beauty to make it 5-4 for Goa. He went for a right-footed kick and drilled it on the far post, the ball then hit the pole and got deflected inside for a goal. This goal was enough to seal the victory for Goa and game ended with total 9 goals scored in the match which is the most scored in any ISL game ever.
