Kings XI Punjab will face the Mumbai Indians in their first true home game of the season at the Punjab Cricket association stadium in Mohali. The two teams have had very different stories so far in the tournament. Even though Mumbai looks much more balanced and strong than they did in the UAE leg of the tournament, there is hardly any doubt that the Kings will emerge as the better team in the evening game at Mohali.
Rohit Sharma and co. have their work cut out for them as the tournament goes into the final stages and the Mumbai Indians needing a win in all the remaining games to even give themselves a chance to qualify for the Playoffs.
Kings XI Punjab needs to keep doing what they have been doing as they already have a ticket to the playoffs. Glenn Maxwell and David Miller haven’t really contributed much in the last 2 games but they have a chance in the game against Mumbai Indians especially with the likes of Keiron Pollard as the opposition to smash some dents in the big hitter’s ego.
The defending champions have become the biggest underdogs which no one expected and playing at Kings XI’s home ground, Mumbai will look to seal an upset victory to help their cause in the tournament.
